Functional Dry Needling

Upper back dry needling

Dry Needling involves the insertion and micromanipulation of the needles (solid filament needles) into the muscle tissue. It also referred to as intramuscular manipulations, intramuscular stimulation, trigger point dry needling.

Dry Needling is a safe and efficient technique, often recommended for its quick outcomes. Dry Needling has been practiced since the 1980s and it has received its popularity in the US in the past decade. Dry Needling is being extensively studied currently, and a broad understanding is that it affects local twitch reflexes, intramuscular electrochemical reactions, and tissue response for intramuscular manipulation. Dry Needling results in the relaxation of overactive muscles, activation of underactive muscles, and relieving of active trigger points. This leads to quick relief of symptoms and the opportunity to retrain muscles for long-lasting effects. Our therapists are certified and experienced in Dry Needling techniques.
